Dilemma

My principal asked me to create a quick presentation about the co-teaching/collaboration model that we use to service our Special Education students. She has a principal’s forum coming up and she wants to share what my campus is doing as a success. She wants me to touch on aspects of our program like lesson planning, and scheduling.

My problem is this: our program is nothing to brag about. We have fundamental issues that could have been solved in August if our Special Education team Coordinator would use the resources and tools suggested by our district, when implementing a new co-teaching program. Instead, Coordinator has decided to set up our basic structure on his own research and ~expertise~, which is what makes my job so difficult. He has no idea how to structure or run a co-teaching program. (In fact, he refuses to co-teach and sits in his classroom all day.) My principal knows nothing about Spec. Ed. and relies on the Coordinator to be her right hand man…hence dilemma.

So my question to all of you educators is…Should I create a presentation that depicts our program as it really functions, flaws and all (and possibly pitch solutions)…or should I create the presentation that my principal wants?
